Math AIGet the app

Privacy policy

The short version: photos of your problems are read on your phone and never uploaded. What we do hold is your account and your progress.

Who we are

Math AI is operated by Doğukan Gündoğan. For anything in this policy, contact dogukanalig@gmail.com.

Photos are not collected

When you photograph a problem, the app recognises the equation on your device and sends only the recognised text — a line of characters — to our server to be solved.

The image is never transmitted, so we cannot store it, lose it, or be compelled to produce it. This is a property of how the app is built, not a promise about how we behave: there is no endpoint that accepts an image.

What we do collect

  • Account: your email address, a name if you give one, and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store the password itself.
  • Subscription state: which tier you are on, and the receipt identifier your app store issues so we can verify it. We never see your card details.
  • Usage counts: how many solves you have used in the current period, so the daily limit can be enforced.
  • Learn progress: which topics you have completed, your quiz results, diamond balance and streak.
  • The problem text you solve: sent to our server to produce the steps. It is processed to answer the request and is not tied to a public profile or sold.

What stays on your phone

Your solve history is stored on the device only. We have no copy of it. Deleting the app deletes it.

Advertising

Free accounts see ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, Google receives your device's IP address and an advertising identifier, and may use them per Google's policy for partner sites and apps.

We do not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so on iOS the ads you see are non-personalised. Paid tiers show no ads and make no ad requests at all.

Who else processes your data

  • Apple and Google — payments, subscription receipts and app distribution.
  • Google AdMob — ads on free accounts only.
  • xAI — the model that produces the working for a problem. It receives the problem text, and does not receive your identity.
  • Our hosting provider — runs the server and its database.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Account, subscription and progress data are kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and it goes within 30 days, except where a tax or accounting rule requires us to keep a payment record for longer.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email dogukanalig@gmail.com from the address on the account. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

Math AI is built for schoolwork, and we expect younger users. You need to be at least 13 — or the minimum age for consent where you live, which is up to 16 in parts of the EEA — to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app before it takes effect.
